Peer recovery coaches tested to boost opioid treatment retention

Summary
This study looks at whether support from trained peers who have personal experience with addiction and recovery can help people stick with their medication treatment for opioid use disorder. About 218 adults starting treatment will either get standard care alone or standard care plus up to 6 months of peer recovery support. Researchers will track how long participants stay in treatment using medical records and questionnaires.
