New recovery plan could help kids heal faster after intestinal surgery

NCT ID NCT07504549

First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special care plan called ERAS can help children recover better after planned intestinal surgery. The plan focuses on reducing stress from surgery, lowering complications, and speeding up recovery. About 120 children from nine hospitals in Poland will take part, and their results will be compared to past patients who received standard care. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and leads to earlier eating, less pain, and shorter hospital stays.
