Summary
This study tested a brain-wave-guided anesthesia method combined with a planned pain management approach in 70 older adults (age 60+) having heart surgery. The goal was to see if it could lower the risk of confusion, keep blood pressure stable, and reduce pain and opioid use after surgery. The approach focuses on tailoring anesthesia to individual brain activity.
