First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at whether using a Passy-Muir valve (a one-way speaking valve for a tracheostomy tube) helps people walk farther. 26 adults with a tracheostomy completed 6-minute walk tests on different days, sometimes with the valve and sometimes without. The goal was to see if the valve improved their walking endurance.
