First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests a precise type of radiation called proton therapy for people with early-stage breast cancer. It is given only to the part of the breast where the tumor was removed, aiming to lower the chance of cancer coming back while reducing side effects. The trial includes 150 adults aged 40 and older who have had a lumpectomy and meet low- or intermediate-risk criteria. Researchers will track recurrence rates, side effects, and disease-free survival over time.
