Brain scans vs. guesswork: new trial aims to Fine-Tune Parkinson's treatment

NCT ID NCT07369310

Summary

This study is testing if using objective data from brain scans and recorded brain signals can help doctors program deep brain stimulation (DBS) devices more effectively for people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers will compare this data-guided method to the standard, more subjective approach to see which one better reduces patients' 'off' time (when symptoms return) and improves their quality of life. The trial will involve 20 adults with Parkinson's who are scheduled to receive a DBS implant.
