First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a 7-week ballroom dance program, called Parkinson Ballroom Fitness, can improve walking, balance, and quality of life in people with Parkinson's disease. About 50 participants will be randomly assigned to dance or usual care. The program uses waltz, swing, and Latin steps adapted for different ability levels. Researchers will check if any benefits last 12 weeks after the classes end.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a fun, social exercise option to help people with Parkinson's move better and feel better.
