Can doctor training and online parenting classes tame child behavior issues?
NCT ID NCT06695663
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at two things: training primary care doctors to better refer families to parenting programs, and testing a 6-session online parent training program called Empowered Generations (eGen). Researchers want to see if these steps can reduce behavior problems in children ages 3-8. About 600 parents and doctors are taking part.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
parent training program (Empowered Generations) and referral training for doctors
What this could lead to
If successful, this could make effective parenting programs more accessible through primary care, potentially reducing behavioral problems in children.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage study testing feasibility and referral processes, not a direct treatment. Results may not show clear benefits or may not apply to all families.
