First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving a common painkiller (paracetamol) through an IV can lower the chance of confusion or delirium after surgery in older adults (age 60+). About 1,092 participants who have moderate to severe pain after non-cardiac surgery will receive either paracetamol or a standard opioid painkiller. The goal is to see if paracetamol leads to less delirium and better recovery.
