First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving older patients (60+) a paracetamol injection after non-cardiac surgery can lower their risk of postoperative delirium—a state of sudden confusion. About 1,092 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either paracetamol or a standard opioid painkiller. The goal is to see if a safer pain option can protect the brain without strong side effects.
