First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 38 times

Summary

This study tests whether a numbing injection around the cervix (paracervical block) given during vaginal hysterectomy for prolapse can lower pain and reduce the need for strong opioid painkillers after surgery. About 56 participants will receive either the numbing medicine or a placebo (saltwater) injection. They will track their pain and medication use for a week and complete recovery questionnaires for up to six weeks.
