First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at how fat buildup in the pancreas (pancreatic steatosis) is linked to type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Researchers will use a special ultrasound technique to measure pancreatic fat in 100 adults aged 18–80. Participants will have one visit for blood tests, glucose tolerance tests, and physical measurements. The goal is to better understand how pancreatic fat affects insulin-producing cells and to improve ways to predict diabetes risk.
