New test could spare thousands from unnecessary pancreas surgery

NCT ID NCT04473794

Summary

This study aims to develop and test a better way to tell which pancreatic cysts are harmless and which might turn into cancer. Researchers will follow 5,000 adults with pancreatic cysts to see if a new diagnostic model using clinical information, imaging, and biomarkers can more accurately identify risky cysts. The goal is to help doctors decide who truly needs surgery and who can safely avoid it.
