Scientists test reliability of pain measures in capsaicin model
NCT ID NCT07625475
First seen Jun 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looked at whether two common pain tests (temporal summation and offset analgesia) give consistent results when used multiple times in healthy adults. 16 volunteers had capsaicin cream applied to their skin to create temporary sensitivity, then the tests were repeated. The goal was to help researchers choose the best methods for future pain studies, not to treat any disease.
