First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looked at how the brain naturally reduces pain when a person feels two painful sensations at the same time. Researchers wanted to see if paying attention to one pain can help turn down the other. Twenty-four healthy University of Washington students took part, rating their pain and attention levels. The goal was to better understand the body's built-in pain control systems.
