First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looked at 93 adults having bladder tumor surgery under spinal anesthesia. It compared two intravenous drugs—magnesium sulfate and dexmedetomidine—to see which better controlled pain after surgery. Magnesium sulfate led to lower pain scores, delayed the need for extra painkillers, and reduced total painkiller use, with no major safety issues.
