NCT ID NCT06869369
First seen Jul 28, 2026 · Last updated Jul 29, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a pain neuroscience education program called PNE4Kids can improve physical activity, sleep quality, and pain understanding in healthy middle school students. About 84 children will be randomly assigned to receive the program or no intervention. Researchers will measure changes in activity levels, sleep habits, pain knowledge, and leisure participation before, right after, and three months after the training.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Pain neuroscience education program (PNE4Kids) delivered via PowerPoint and interactive games
- What this could lead to
- If effective, this approach could help children better understand pain and adopt healthier behaviors, potentially reducing the risk of chronic pain later in life.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study in healthy children, so results may not apply broadly. The intervention is educational, so its impact on physical activity or sleep may be modest.
