Summary
This study tests if using scalp nerve blocks and a drug called dexmedetomidine can reduce the need for strong opioid painkillers and prevent confusion after brain tumor surgery. About 2000 adults having brain surgery will be randomly assigned to receive one or both treatments, or placebos. The main goal is to see how much opioid pain medicine they need in the first two days after surgery.
