Pain may predict Parkinson's years before diagnosis

NCT ID NCT07365566

First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looks at whether people with a sleep condition called idiopathic REM sleep behavior disorder (iRBD) experience more pain than others. iRBD is a strong early sign of Parkinson's disease, but pain in these patients has not been studied. Researchers will compare pain levels in 24 people with iRBD to a control group with narcolepsy who also have RBD. The goal is to find new early clues for Parkinson's, which could help start treatments sooner.
