First seen Dec 24, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested two different methods of pain control during back surgery to see which one works better. 29 adults having thoraco-lumbar fusion surgery received either a nerve block before surgery, numbing medicine injected at the end of surgery, or standard anesthesia alone. Researchers measured pain, inflammation, confusion after surgery, and recovery quality to find the best approach.
