New study aims to extend pain relief after arm surgery

NCT ID NCT07279727

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares two medicines, dexmedetomidine and nalbuphine, added to a standard numbing drug (bupivacaine) for a nerve block in the armpit area. The goal is to see which combination provides longer pain relief after upper arm surgery. 66 adults scheduled for elective arm surgery will take part, and the main measure is how long it takes before they need additional pain medicine.
