New injection could slash pain pills after weight loss surgery
NCT ID NCT07253610
Summary
This study tested a new type of nerve block injection to see if it could reduce pain and the need for strong opioid painkillers after weight loss surgery. Researchers compared the new injection, given during surgery, to standard pain control methods alone. The main goal was to see if patients who received the block needed fewer opioids in their first 24 hours of recovery.
