Nerve block tested to ease pain in keyhole heart surgery
NCT ID NCT06762288
Summary
This study tested if a targeted nerve block in the abdomen could better control pain for patients undergoing a minimally invasive heart valve replacement (TAVI). The goal was to keep patients more comfortable and still during the procedure, which may improve safety and satisfaction. Researchers compared the nerve block plus standard sedation against sedation alone in 50 patients.
