New study aims to find best pain relief for lung surgery patients

Summary

This study compares two types of nerve blocks (costotransverse foramen block and thoracic paravertebral block) to control pain after lung cancer surgery. 70 adults undergoing thoracotomy will be randomly assigned to one of the two blocks. The goal is to see which method reduces the need for morphine and provides longer-lasting pain relief.
