New study tests best way to block C-Section pain, reduce opioid need

NCT ID NCT05117307

Summary

This study aims to find which of two ultrasound-guided nerve block techniques works better to control pain after a cesarean section. Researchers will compare the Transversalis Fascia Plane block and the Erector Spinae Plane block in 60 women having planned C-sections. The main goal is to see which method leads to less opioid painkiller use, with a secondary look at overall pain scores during recovery.
