NCT ID NCT06659991

First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at how chronic jaw pain (TMD) influences the way people drink alcohol. Researchers will compare heavy drinkers with and without TMD pain in a lab setting and in daily life. The goal is to understand if pain makes people drink more or differently, which could help reduce alcohol-related risks. About 160 adults aged 21-65 who drink at least 1 drink 3 days a week will participate.
