Gum surgery recovery: ozone gel or Laser—Which heals faster?
NCT ID NCT07234994
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether ozonized gel or a special laser helps gums heal faster and with less pain after a gingivectomy (gum removal surgery). 48 adults received one of the two treatments or standard care. Researchers checked healing, pain, and tissue regrowth over 28 days. The goal is to find a better way to recover from this common dental procedure.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
ozonized gel
What this could lead to
If one treatment works better, it could offer a simpler, less painful recovery option after gum surgery.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed trial with only 48 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Neither treatment is a cure—just a way to ease recovery.
