First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding ozone gas to standard gum surgery helps wounds heal faster in people with chronic inflammatory gum enlargement. Twenty-four healthy adults took part, and each person had two surgical sites treated—one with ozone and one without. Researchers checked healing by looking at gum cells and measuring plaque, bleeding, and pocket depth over 21 days.
