Love hormone spray tested for aching knees

NCT ID NCT03878589

Summary

This study tested whether a nasal spray containing oxytocin, a natural hormone, could safely reduce pain and improve daily function in older adults with knee osteoarthritis. Over 80 participants used the spray or a placebo daily for four weeks. Researchers measured changes in pain levels and looked at how the treatment might work in the brain.
