First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at how oxytocin, a natural hormone, affects the part of the nervous system that controls rest and digestion. Researchers will measure changes in pupil size after an injection of oxytocin or a placebo. The goal is to understand how the body responds to pain, not to treat it. About 38 adults with chronic knee pain or healthy volunteers will take part.
