New oxygen combo may help obese patients breathe easier during surgery

NCT ID NCT06914401

First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether combining two oxygen delivery methods (high-flow nasal oxygen and non-invasive ventilation) works better than non-invasive ventilation alone for obese patients during anesthesia preparation. About 124 obese adults will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods. The goal is to see which approach keeps oxygen levels higher and safer during intubation.
