New drug cocktail aims to make ovarian tumors operable

NCT ID NCT07663513

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a combination of two immunotherapy drugs (QL1706), a targeted therapy (bevacizumab), and standard chemotherapy can shrink advanced ovarian cancer before surgery. About 36 women with stage III-IV ovarian cancer will receive the treatment every 3 weeks, then undergo surgery to remove any remaining tumor. The main goal is to see how many achieve complete tumor removal.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Iparomlimab and tovorilimab (QL1706) combined with bevacizumab and chemotherapy (paclitaxel and carboplatin)

What this could lead to

If successful, this approach could shrink advanced ovarian tumors enough to allow complete surgical removal, potentially improving long-term outcomes.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase study with only 36 participants and no comparison group. The combination may cause significant side effects, and results may not apply to all patients.
