VA launches major push to stop fractures in aging veterans

NCT ID NCT04079868

Summary

This study tested a new, centralized 'Bone Health Service' model to improve how the VA healthcare system screens for and treats osteoporosis in older male veterans. It compared this new approach to usual care to see which was better at getting high-risk veterans screened, starting treatment, and preventing broken bones. The goal was to find a more effective system to manage bone health and reduce the serious risks of fractures.
