First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looked at whether ospemifene, a non-hormonal pill for vaginal dryness, also changes brain activity in postmenopausal women with sexual interest-arousal disorder. 25 right-handed women in stable relationships underwent brain scans while watching erotic videos, before and after treatment. The goal was to see if the drug's benefits come from fixing vaginal tissue or from directly affecting brain circuits linked to sexual response.
