New daily pill shows promise for significant weight loss

NCT ID NCT05890976

Summary

This study tested whether a daily oral tablet called semaglutide could help Chinese adults with overweight or obesity lose weight. For about one year, 200 participants took either the real pill or a placebo, alongside counseling on healthy eating and physical activity. The main goal was to see how much body weight participants could lose and how many could achieve a 5% or greater weight reduction.
