First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests a new program that teaches pregnant women in Bangladesh how to care for their teeth and gums during routine prenatal visits. Over 95% of pregnant women in Bangladesh have gum disease, but oral health is often ignored in standard care. The program includes face-to-face education, a special brushing technique, and weekly text reminders. Researchers will track 688 women for 12 weeks to see if the program leads to better brushing habits and cleaner teeth compared to standard pregnancy care.
