Glow-in-the-Dark mouth exam could catch cancer early
NCT ID NCT01167790
First seen May 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 07, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested whether a special light (autofluorescence) can help find precancerous spots and mouth cancers earlier than a regular exam. It included 180 people who smoked and drank heavily, since they are at high risk. The goal was to see if the light method is reliable and could lead to earlier diagnosis and better outcomes.
