Personalized antibiotic dosing could save ICU patients

NCT ID NCT07085624

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to give the antibiotic ceftazidime to patients in intensive care with serious infections. Standard dosing often fails to reach effective levels in 40-60% of patients. The researchers will test a personalized dosing plan based on each patient's kidney function and other factors to improve treatment and reduce side effects. About 128 ICU patients will take part.
