First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether the position a patient is placed in—lying on their side, on their stomach, or sitting up—affects how well a nerve block (erector spinae plane block) controls pain after gallbladder removal. 120 adults having planned laparoscopic gallbladder surgery took part. The goal was to find the best position for reducing pain and the need for extra painkillers, and to see if patients were more satisfied with one position over the others.
