First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether bringing mobile health clinics to rural communities and pairing patients with a certified peer support specialist (someone who has personally recovered from opioid use disorder) can help more people start and stay on medication for opioid use disorder. Researchers will enroll 750 adults in South Carolina and follow them for 6 months to see if this approach reduces overdose deaths and improves treatment retention.
