Summary
This study tests whether a computer tool helps doctors follow safe guidelines when reducing patients' opioid painkiller doses. The tool provides recommendations to prevent withdrawal symptoms and overdose risks during medication tapering. Researchers will track 200,000 patient records over 18 months to see if the tool leads to safer dose reductions and fewer overdose emergencies.
