First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tested a program called TACUNA plus Wellness Circle, designed to prevent opioid misuse among American Indian and Alaska Native young adults aged 18-25 in California. The program uses motivational interviewing and traditional practices in virtual workshops. Researchers compared it to a standard opioid education workshop over 12 months to see if it reduces drug use and strengthens healthy social networks.
