New approach to surgery pain may reduce need for strong painkillers

NCT ID NCT05439005

Summary

This study is testing whether using anesthesia without opioids during breast reconstruction surgery leads to less need for morphine pain medication afterward. Researchers will compare two groups of patients: one receiving traditional opioid-based anesthesia and one receiving opioid-free anesthesia. The main goal is to see which approach better manages pain in the first 48 hours after surgery.
