New anesthesia approach aims to stop chronic pain after mastectomy

Summary

This study compares two anesthesia methods during breast cancer surgery to see which better prevents long-term pain. Researchers will follow 230 patients for one year after mastectomy, measuring pain levels and psychological factors. One group receives traditional opioid-based anesthesia while the other gets an opioid-free combination of different medications.
