Eye scans may predict brain fog after major heart surgery

NCT ID NCT07452367

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring the nerve sheath in the eye with ultrasound can help predict memory and thinking problems after a complex heart surgery called Bentall procedure. Researchers will measure the eye nerve sheath before, during, and after surgery in 100 adults. They will also test thinking skills with a simple questionnaire before and after surgery to see if the eye measurements relate to any mental changes.
