New hope for pancreatic cancer: targeted drug combo enters human testing
NCT ID NCT07377045
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-phase trial is testing a new drug called OMTX705, which targets a protein on cancer cells, combined with standard chemotherapy and an immunotherapy for people with advanced pancreatic cancer that has spread. The study will enroll 69 participants to first find the safest dose of OMTX705, then compare the combination against chemotherapy alone. The goal is to see if the new mix can shrink tumors or control the disease better than current treatments.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
OMTX705 (an antibody-drug conjugate targeting fibroblast activation protein) combined with gemcitabine, nab-paclitaxel, and tislelizumab
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a new combination treatment that shrinks tumors or slows progression in advanced pancreatic cancer, a disease with few options.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 1b trial with only 69 participants, focused on safety and dosing. It is too small and early to know if the combination works better than standard care, and side effects from the new drug are unknown.
