NCT ID NCT07579702
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Aug 04, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study compares a new insulin pump system, Omnipod 6, to the current Omnipod 5 in 200 people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who have poor blood sugar control. Participants will use both pumps for a set time to see which one helps keep blood sugar in a healthy range more effectively and reduces dangerous lows. The goal is to find out if the upgraded system offers real benefits for daily diabetes management.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Omnipod 6 insulin pump system
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could mean better blood sugar control and fewer dangerous lows for people with diabetes using an insulin pump.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early comparison study with only 200 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The new pump might not show a meaningful improvement over the current model.
