What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Omega-3 fatty acids

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a simple, natural way to reduce morphine use after surgery, potentially lowering side effects like nausea and drowsiness.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase study with only 40 participants, so results may not apply widely. Omega-3 may not significantly reduce pain or morphine needs.
