New lung therapy for ICU pneumonia patients under study

Summary

This study looks at whether a special breathing therapy called OLE (Oscillatory Lung Expansion) helps ICU patients with pneumonia clear mucus from their lungs. Researchers will use a lung imaging tool (EIT) to see how well the therapy works. About 62 adults in the ICU will take part, and the main goal is to measure cough strength.
