Could a common drug help cancer patients regain lost weight?

Summary

This study is testing whether olanzapine, a medication that affects brain chemicals, can help cancer patients who are losing too much weight and have poor appetite. The trial will involve 66 adults with advanced cancers of the stomach, liver, pancreas, colon, or lung who have lost significant weight. Participants will receive either a low dose of olanzapine, a higher dose, or a placebo pill for 12 weeks to see which helps most with weight gain and quality of life.
